OUR PROCESS

Immerse Empathy Experience - Understanding the Need

Central to our concept is that we are meeting the needs of real people, the end-users themselves. We undertook this through an action-based research agenda, asking the people within the community a lot of questions and listening to their individual stories.

Design Thinking Workshop Pilots - Testing Community Response

We piloted a series of design thinking workshops with local youth. These workshops gave us a defined and meaningful need to to test in situ. It added an extra layer to the and research and gauged the willingness of the community to participate in solution finding.

Ideation Workshop - Generation of Multiple Ideas

We invited an international and interdisciplinary team from academic, creative and business disciplines to join the process in Banda Aceh. We ran a series of structured collaborative design thinking workshops, supported by presentations from local community members within financial, business and government industries.

Stakeholder Design Thinking Workshop - Developing One Idea

We take one idea from the ideation workshop and develop it further into a business model in collboration with key stakeholders. The model can be created, pivoted, adjusted and fine tuned as much as needed, at a very low cost.

Design and Build Workshop - Generating Change through Design

We invite back a team of international and interdisciplinary individuals from academic and professional fields to partake in a design and build workshop with the local community. The developed idea is used as a brief and the model is built and implemented.
